My last post was about ten days ago…it’s about time for a status update, doncha think?
First, I don’t talk about the family here, much. There’s been a lot of time spent maintaining those relationships. That’s far more important than whanging words out on paper. Important for me, that is. I know you, the readers, have a different view. So, let me get to what’s important to you.
Submissions: None new submitted, although there are two bookmarked deadlines at the end of the month. One I am definitely not going to meet, the other, I have a previously rejected story ready to go for them. I’ll be sending that in after the weekend.
Queue: Still at five. It’s making me slightly nuts. I mentioned in a previous post that I have a story on the shortlist for a pro mag. This is a good thing. However, Duotrope has this great little feed where it will report on all markets where you have a pending submission. I keep seeing updates, where this pro mag is doing rejects left and right. It’s like I am in the trenches, and my fellow writers are being picked off on either side of me. There’s still a big chance I will catch a reject. In the meantime, there’s all this carnage around me. It’s happening for two of the markets I am still in. Maddening!
ABNA: The second round cuts come out on the 20th – going from 1000 to 250. I still don’t think I’ll make it, but there’s always that one chance. Reviews go up on the 18th. Five days. Ugh.
That’s it for now. More when there’s something to say.
