I suspect you’re here because of the links in the pep talk that was released, or the OLL blog post. And you’re wondering…who is this guy and why was he chosen to write a Camp NaNo pep talk? Thus, my blog.
Mine is a certain kind of blog: I write when the spirit moves me to do so. The blog is ONLY about writing: the craft, the business thereof, and of special events such as conventions, Pitchapaloozas, and the like. You will not find filler about family, or pets, or vacations. No pictures of my cappuchino or the entree at the local eatery. No–it’s all about writing. Specifically, my writing. Sometimes, not much is going on, and there won’t be any entries. Sometimes, I might post three times in a day. It’s that kind of thing.
I realize this is different. Blog readers want some sort of regularity. Look, I’m relatively new to this field, and I know that I don’t know a lot of things. The reason I don’t post is that I don’t have a whole lot to say, that’s all. I’ve got no book deals, no agent, and so far, all I’ve got is a lot of works in progress, and one finished work on the street looking for representation. What can I possibly talk about with any kind of credibility?
There are a lot of writing blogs out there, some of which are exceptionally good. One of these days, I’ll rearrange this blog and start up a blogroll of my fave sites. You know, when I get the house cleaned.
So, welcome! I look forward to your commentary. Follow me if you wish, I hope past or future posts assist you in your journey towards publication.
